Adolf J. Schwab

Adolf Josef Schwab (born June 20, 1937 in Mannheim ) is a German electrical engineer. He is emeritus at the Institute for Electrical Energy Systems and High Voltage Technology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and heads the “Prof. Schwab Consulting ".

Life

Adolf Josef Schwab studied electrical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe from 1957 to 1961. After receiving his doctorate in 1963 and a stay as a postdoctoral fellow at MIT in the USA, he completed his habilitation in 1972 . In 1976 he was appointed professor at the University of Darmstadt , and in 1978 at the University of Dortmund . Since 1980 he has been a full professor at the University of Karlsruhe. From 1989 to 1993 Schwab was head of the ABB Group Research Center in Heidelberg . Today he runs the consulting company “Prof. Schwab Consulting ”, which works in the fields of electrical engineering and business administration.

Schwab is the author of five specialist books and an honorary doctorate from the Universities of Saint Petersburg and Tomsk and a consulting professor at the University of Xi'an . He is a member of the Association of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Information Technology , Life Fellow of the IEEE , Past Chair of the IEEE Ethics Committee and Junior Past Chairman of the "IEEE Germany Section".
