Adolf Kašpar
Adolf Kašpar (born December 27, 1877 in Bludov , Moravia , † June 29, 1934 in Železná Ruda ) was a Czech painter and illustrator.
Life
Adolf Kašpar, son of a general store, studied at the Prague Academy under Maxmilián Pirner . His sponsor was the Czech artist Hanuš Schwaiger , an illustrator of children's books.
His villa in Rusava is a listed building. There is an Adolf Kašpar memorial in Loštice .
Works
Kašpar was an excellent draftsman who perfected his suggestions by gathering information in Czech literature. He became famous through illustrations in the book Babička by the Czech writer Božena Němcová . His illustrations can also be found in works by Alois Jirásek , Jan Neruda , Karel Václav Rais and František Ladislav Čelakovský . He also worked as a graphic artist, creating watercolors and pictures from his region of origin.
