Adolf Maria Pinkas (born January 27, 1800 in Prague ; † September 28, 1865 there ) was a Bohemian politician .

Life

Born as the son of a state lawyer , Pinkas studied law in Heidelberg and Prague after attending high school in Prague. During his studies he became a member of the Old Heidelberg Burschenschaft in 1819 and was co-founder of the Old Prague Burschenschaft Teutonia in the same year . He was detained for several weeks during the persecution of demagogues . In 1823 he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . After his studies he worked in the office of his father as Advokaturskonzipient and from 1832 as a lawyer in Prague. In 1847 he opened his own law firm as a state lawyer. He worked as a correspondent for the Leipzig newspaper Die Grenzboten ; under the synonym : Hradschiner. He was one of the leaders of the Prague university riots in 1848. He was a member of the Prague deputation in Vienna and was a member of the newly elected Prague Municipal Committee, the National Committee and the Constituent Reichstag in Kremsier , where he was one of the liberals' spokesmen. In 1850 he was involved in founding the German-language newspaper Union . In 1860 he became a member of the Prague city ​​council . He was a member of the Bohemian Landtag from 1861 to 1865 , where he appeared as a staunch opponent of the national Czech party. During this time he was also a member and assessor of the state committee. He was also involved in the establishment of the Bohemian Mortgage Bank. He was director of the German State Theater in Prague for many years .

His great-grandson was Jiří Voskovec .
