Adolf Schmetzer

Adolf Schmetzer (born March 5, 1854 in Frankfurt am Main ; † April 4, 1943 in Regensburg ) was a German civil engineer , municipal senior building officer and head of the municipal building department in Regensburg, and a local researcher .

Act

Adolf Schmetzer worked successfully as a civil engineer in Regensburg from 1880 and was a member of the building committee there for decades. From 1897 to 1921 he headed the Regensburg city planning department, first until 1903 under mayor Oscar von Stobäus, then under mayors Hermann Geib , Alfons Auer and Otto Geßler and was involved in the general development plan of the city. He wrote several essays on the history of the city and especially on the history of the building and architecture of Regensburg.
