Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz (born September 1, 1883 in Narwa , † October 1, 1948 in Krakow ) was a Polish architect , university professor and monument conservator.

After studying in St. Petersburg (1902–1909) and working in Germany and Austria-Hungary, Szyszko-Bohusz was appointed to the Lemberg Polytechnic in 1913 . From 1924 to 1929 he was rector of the Art Academy in Cracow , from 1932 to 1939 professor at the Polytechnic in Warsaw .

Szyszko-Bohusz was a leader in the restoration and remodeling of the Krakow Wawel and Warsaw Royal Castles and the Łazienki Palace in the interwar period , he also planned the Piłsudskis presidential residence and other larger buildings in Krakow and Czestochowa . The architecture of Szyszko-Bohusz was strongly based on elements of tradition and tried to create harmonious ensembles of old and new, but also incorporated modern stylistic elements of practicality. His villa in Przegorzały above the Vistula was used from 1939 to 1944 under the name “Schloss Wartenberg” as one of the residences of Hans Frank , who was later executed as a war criminal head of the National Socialist Government General , and is now used by the University of Krakow .
