Life
Adolf Theodor Werner was born in Frankenmühle near Hirschfeld in 1827. His father was Johann Christian Gottlieb Werner, born in Übigau near Großenhain . He then went on study trips to Belgium (Antwerp Academy, 1850), Italy and the Netherlands.
Around 1864 Werner created works of art in Düsseldorf , where he lived for a while and where he sent exhibits to the Prussian Academy of the Arts . From 1852 until his death in 1904 he lived in a 12-room studio apartment in Doberlug Castle .
