Adolph nails
Adolph Nägel (born December 16, 1875 in Döhlen , † September 17, 1939 in Dresden ) was a German mechanical engineer and university professor .
Life
After graduating from high school in Dresden, Adolph Nägel studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Dresden from 1894 . Here he joined the Corps Thuringia . With interruptions for an industrial internship and military service, he completed his studies in 1903 with honors as a Dipl.-Ing. from.
As the first assistant at the chair for heat engines, he became Dr.-Ing. In 1906 with Richard Mollier . PhD. After his habilitation in 1907, he was appointed full professor to the chair for piston machines in the machine laboratory of the TH Dresden. In 1918 the Institute for Motor Vehicle Technology was founded at the TH Dresden under his direction. From 1923 to 1925 and from 1928 to 1929 Adolph Nägel was rector of the TH Dresden. In 1929 he became a curator of the Association of German Engineers (VDI). In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
Adolph Nägel was one of the leading figures in the scientific research into the working processes of high-speed diesel engines and internal combustion engines in general.
