Adolph von Poche (born June 9, 1811 in Nischburg on the Fürstenberg domain Pürglitz; † May 2, 1893 in Vienna ) was governor of Moravia .

Life

Adolph von Poche was the son of the mine owner in Zbiroh in Bohemia, Franz Poche. He grew up in Hudlitz , where his father owned property, and there received his first lessons from the local village school teacher. Poche studied law and entered the civil service. In 1847 he became district commissioner in Brno. During the March Revolution , in March 1848, he became head of the presidential office of the Gubernium of the Margraviate of Moravia under governor Leopold Lažansky . In 1850 he became a governor's council. In 1853 he was transferred to the Oven Lieutenancy as court counselor, and a short time later became Vice President of the Lieutenancy Department in Košice . In 1860 he became vice-president of the united Lieutenancy in Ofen . From 1861 he was provisional section head in the State Ministry. In 1862 he was appointed governor of Moravia.

In 1863 he was elected to the Moravian Landtag for the constituency of the rural communities 24. Kromau and re-elected in 1867. From 1863 to 1973 he was elected by the Moravian Parliament as a member of the Reichsrat . In 1870 he voted against the wishes of the Potocki cabinet. As a result, he was deposed as governor and retired. He died by suicide .

Awards

On July 20, 1853, he received the Order of the Iron Crown 3rd Class and was knighted. On November 10, 1858, he was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Leopold Order and in 1859 was admitted to the baron class. With the diploma of July 26, 1864, the transfer of this baron status to the stepchildren of Adolph von Poche, Richard, Eugen and Franziska Lettmayer was approved. These then bore the name Poche-Lettmayer. Eugen von Poche-Lettmayer became a member of the state parliament in 1879.

On May 18, 1862, when he took over the post of governor, he became a privy councilor . On April 30, 1867, he received the Order of the Iron Crown, 1st class.
