Neal Dunn (born February 16, 1953 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American politician . Since January 3, 2017, he has represented the state of Florida in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Neal Dunn initially studied at Washington and Lee University . This was followed by a medical degree at the medical school of George Washington University , where he studied urology . He then interned at Walter Reed Military Hospital and served ten years in the United States Army medical service , where he made it to major. He then settled in Panama City , Florida. There he worked in various positions in the medical service. He was president of several medical associations with a focus on urology.

Politically, Dunn joined the Republican Party . Until 2016 he held no political office. In the 2016 congressional election , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in the second constituency of Florida against the Democrat Walter Dartland in Washington, DC , where on January 3, 2017 he succeeded Democrat Gwen Graham , who was no longer running.
