Suzanne M. Kosmas (* 25. February 1944 in Washington, DC ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party and was from 2009 to 2011 member of the US House of Representatives for Florida .

biography

Suzanne Kosmas attended Pennsylvania State University from 1961 to 1963 , George Mason University in Fairfax , Virginia from 1971 to 1973 , and Stetson University in DeLand in 1998 . Since 1973 she has worked as a realtor in New Smyrna Beach ; In 1979 she started her own company, Prestige Properties of New Smyrna Beach . She was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1996 to 2004 , when she could not be re-elected due to a term limit. In 2008 she was elected to the United States House of Representativeselected after beating three-time election winner and former Florida House Speaker Tom Feeney in her constituency . She was sworn in on January 3, 2009.

In the House of Representatives, she was a member of the Finance Committee and the Science Committee .
