Craig T. James

Craig T. James (born May 5, 1941 in Augusta , Georgia ) is an American politician . Between 1989 and 1993 he represented the state of Florida in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Craig James attended Deland High School in Florida until 1959 . He then studied at Stetson University until 1963 . Between 1963 and 1969 he served in the National Guard and in the US Army Reserve . After studying law at Stetson University and being admitted to the bar in 1967, he began working in his new profession in DeLand . Between 1971 and 1975 he worked in the housing sector in that city.

James became a member of the Republican Party . In the 1988 congressional election , he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the fourth constituency of Florida , where he succeeded William V. Chappell on January 3, 1989 . After re-election in 1990, he was able to complete two terms in Congress until January 3, 1993 .

In 1992, Craig James decided not to run again. After leaving the US House of Representatives, he did not hold any other higher political offices.
