Emory H. Price

Emory Hilliard Price (born December 3, 1899 in Bostwick , Putnam County , Florida , †  February 11, 1976 in Jacksonville , Florida) was an American politician . Between 1943 and 1949 he represented the state of Florida in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Emory Price attended the public schools in Duval County, Florida. After a subsequent law degree at Jacksonville Law College and his admission as a lawyer in 1936, he began to work in Jacksonville in his new profession. From 1929 to 1932 he was a councilor in Jacksonville; from 1932 to 1942 he was head of the Duval County registry .

Politically, Price was a member of the Democratic Party . In the congressional elections of 1942 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the second constituency of Florida , where he succeeded Robert A. Green on January 3, 1943 , who moved to the newly created sixth district. After two re-elections, he was able to complete three legislative terms in Congress by January 3, 1949 . These were shaped by the events of the Second World War and its consequences.

In 1948, Emory Price was no longer nominated for re-election by his party. In the following years he worked again as a lawyer. He also worked in the real estate business. Emory Price died on February 11, 1976 in Jacksonville, where he was also buried.
