Adriatic transport
The Adria Transport d.oo is a Slovenian railway company , based in Koper . The object of the business is the transport of goods by rail into the hinterland of the port of Koper .
history
Adria Transport was founded in 2005 as a joint venture by Graz-Köflacher Bahn und Busbetrieb GmbH (GKB) and the operating company of the port of Koper ( Luka Koper ). After obtaining all the necessary permits in Austria and Slovenia as well as in competition with Intercontainer Austria ( Rail Cargo Austria ), the operative business started in August 2008.
Vehicle inventory
The vehicle fleet includes three Siemens ES 64 U4-B (Taurus 3) and, since July 2011, a diesel-electric Siemens Eurorunner (Hercules) locomotive , which, among other advantages, does not use the power supply provided on the Koper - Prešnica - Divača route , so more trains are running can run along the route. From summer 2014 [obsolete] , locomotives of the ÖBB 1822 series are to be used to haul freight trains from the port of Koper to the Czech Republic on the Koper - Vienna route , which comply with the axle load limit of 20 t on the Maribor - Spielfeld route .
On January 10, 2018, the 193 822 locomotive previously leased by Siemens was sold to Adria Transport.
Range of services
Adria Transport carries freight trains from the port of Koper to the hinterland. The first transports brought discharged kerosene in Koper to Vienna-Schwechat airport . This service has been provided three times a week since October 2008.
According to Luka Koper , Adria Transport operates the Koper – Graz – Koper and Koper – Arad – Koper routes as required.
