Vice Admiral Sir Adrian James Johns (Year of recording: 2009)

Vice Admiral Sir Adrian James Johns KCB CBE KStJ ADC (* 1. September 1951 in Redruth ) is a British officer and was from 2009 to 2013 Governor of Gibraltar ( Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Gibraltar ). He is a graduate of Imperial College London (physics).

Uses in the Navy

Johns joined the Royal Navy in 1973 , where he worked as a helicopter pilot with the 824 Naval Air Squadron and with the floating units HMS Ocean , HMS Campbeltown , HMS Ariadne , HMS Juno . From 2003 to 2005 he was Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff ; from 2005 to 2008 he was Chief of Naval Personnel & Training and Second Sea Lord in personal union .

Governor of Gibraltar

Johns succeeded Sir Robert Fulton as Governor of Gibraltar in October 2009 . He was replaced by James Dutton in December 2013 .
