Adrien Porchet

Adrien Porchet (born October 14, 1907 in Geneva , † June 2, 2008 in Vevey ; reformed , resident in Naz ) was a Swiss film producer , filmmaker and cameraman .

Life

Adrien Porchet was born in Geneva on October 14, 1907, the son of the film pioneer Arthur-Adrien Porchet . Porchet completed an apprenticeship as a photographer in Montana in 1925/26 and then switched to the film company AAP. Subsequently, Porchet worked as a camera assistant , including at Orphea Film for Maurice Forster, whom he followed to Paris and Spain .

Adrien Porchet lived in Barcelona from 1931 to 1938 and created front-line reports for the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo trade union as well as documentary and propaganda films in 1936 and 1937 .

During the Second World War , Adrien Porchet was behind the camera for various Swiss productions and worked, increasingly also as a producer, in the field of commissioned films , for example from 1941 to 1945 in Lausanne for Scientifilm and Gamma Film.

In 1953 Porchet was one of the founders of Actua Films in Geneva. From 1965 he worked for international organizations, Swiss television and foreign broadcasters.

Adrien Porchet, who was married twice, died on June 2, 2008 at the age of 100 in Vevey.
