Ae Hee Lee

Ae Hee Lee (Korean 이애희, * 1982 in Seoul ) is a South Korean painter , sculptor and photographer who lives in Germany .

Life

Ae Hee Lee studied fine arts at the Gachon University of Art in South Korea from 2001 to 2006. From 2008 to 2011 she studied at the University of Fine Arts Braunschweig in Germany. She lives and works in Braunschweig and Seoul .

She has been involved with the Dream Records series since 2014 and the Life Project series since 2008. Ae Hee Lee examines her “self” with the question of where the limits of memory lie. By systematically researching her dreams, she tries to overcome the boundary to the archetypal, collective original form of the unconscious. The documentation of her self and dream research is reflected in her artistic work in the form of fine, networked structures.
