Egidius Federle

Egidius Federle (called Egid ; born October 10, 1810 in Stühlingen , Waldshut district ; † March 21, 1876 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German landscape painter and draftsman .

Life

Federle graduated from 1822/23 a lesson in the school of the Swiss painter and publisher Johann Ludwig Bleuler in Schaffhausen and was teaching boy the painter and illustrator Heinrich Uster Bleuler in Feuerthalen . After completing his apprenticeship in 1826/27, he stayed with Bleuler and, together with this and other painters from the school, moved into Laufen Castle over the Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen in 1832 . He worked as a vedute draftsman for the Bleuler publishing house and was involved in numerous works for the publishing house. After Bleuler's death in 1850 he lived in Konstanz , in 1861 he moved to Freiburg , where he worked as a landscape painter and drawing teacher.
