Aemilius Ludwig von Hombergk zu Vach (born March 15, 1720 in Marburg ; † July 12, 1783 there ; also Aemililius Ludovicus Hombergk zu Vach or Emil Ludwig Hombergius zu Wach ; confirmation of the nobility in 1780) was a German legal scholar and chancellor of the University of Marburg .

Life

Hombergk zu Vach was a son of Johann Friedrich Hombergk zu Vach , who worked as a legal scholar at the University of Marburg and who comes from the Hessian family of the same name . After enjoying a humanistic education at an early age , he is said to have given academic lectures at the age of 16 and appeared in a treatise at the age of 19. He studied at the University of Marburg and from 1742 gave private lectures on institutions. As early as January 15, 1743, he was appointed fourth full professor of Roman civil law and assessor of the Faculty of Law at the University of Marburg. In August of the same year took place there, the promotion of Doctor of Laws .

Hombergk zu Vach was Vice-Rector of the University and often Dean (1747, 1750, 1752, 1755, 1757, 1761, 1765, 1769, 1773, 1777, 1781) of the Faculty of Law in 1756 and 1768 . In addition, while retaining his professorship, he became Vice Chancellor and Privy Councilor in 1773, then Professor Primarius in 1780, Privy Councilor and Chancellor of the University of Marburg.
