Agapius Masong

Agapius Masong (born April 12, 1960 ) is a retired Tanzanian marathon runner .

In 1982 he finished second in the Seoul International Marathon . The following year he was after a fourth place in the Houston Marathon and a second place in the Stockholm Marathon with his personal best of 2:10:42 fifth at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki . Two months later, he finished fourth in the Chicago Marathon .

In 1984 he finished fourth in the Rotterdam Marathon and won in Stockholm. At the Olympic Games in Los Angeles , he came in 21st. At the end of the season he was ninth in Chicago.

In 1986 he finished seventh in the New York City Marathon . In the further course of his career he won the Bremen marathon through city and country in 1988 and the Belgrade marathon in 1991.

He was managed and trained by Volker Wagner from Detmold .
