description

Vegetative characteristics

Agave grisea grows with single rosettes . Their green and somewhat clawed or gray, rather dull, lanceolate leaves are somewhat concave. The leaf blade is 150 to 200 centimeters long and 10 to 20 centimeters (rarely up to 25 centimeters) wide. The leaf margin varies from almost straight to clearly concave. It has marginal teeth 2 to 3 millimeters (rarely up to 5 millimeters) long, 15 to 25 millimeters (rarely up to 45 millimeters) apart. The strongly triangular, slightly curved marginal teeth are occasionally wider or almost lenticular at the base of the leaf. The reddish maroon or brown terminal spine is triangular, conical or somewhat sub-like and slightly curved. It is flattened or shallowly concave to its center or beyond, or it has slightly inwardly curved edges. The smooth end mandrel is 10 to 15 millimeters (rarely up to 20 millimeters) long. It descends over a length of 10 to 20 millimeters or more.

Inflorescences and flowers

The elongated, "panicle" inflorescence is 6 to 8 meters long. The partial inflorescences are in the upper half of the inflorescence. The flowers are 40 to 55 millimeters long. Their tepals are golden yellow, the tips 15 to 18 millimeters long. The flower tube has a length of about 8 millimeters. The elongated spindle-shaped ovary is 20 to 30 millimeters long.

fruit

The elongated fruits are 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. They are short-stalked and beaked.
