Agnes Kniehauer (born May 5, 1989 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish curler . She is currently playing second in Anna Hasselborg's team .

Career

Kniehauer began her international career at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Vancouver , where she finished sixth with Skip Anna Hasselborg's team. At the Junior World Championships 2010 she played for Hasselborg as a second and won the gold medal by beating Rachel Homan's Canadian team in the final .

In 2010 she was a substitute for Stina Viktorsson's Swedish team at her first European Championship and won the gold medal. In the final, the Swedes beat the Scottish women around Skip Eve Muirhead . In 2012 she was back as a substitute at the European Championship; this time in Margaretha Sigfridsson's team , which won the bronze medal. Her third participation as a substitute player followed in 2013 in the Sigfridsson team, which won the gold medal by beating Eve Muirhead in the final. At her first World Cup in 2013 she was a substitute for Margaretha Sigfridsson and won the silver medal with the Swedish team.

At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , Kniehauer was a substitute player; the Swedish team of Skip Margaretha Sigfridsson was able to move into the final, but lost there against the Canadians around Jennifer Jones .

With the team skipped by Anna Hasselborg, Kniehauer took part in the 2014 European Championship for the first time; the team finished fifth. At the European Championships in 2016 , she moved into the final with Hasselborg, but lost to the Russian team of Viktorija Moissejewa . At the European Championships in 2017 , she came back to the final with the Swedish team, but had to admit defeat to Scotland (Skip: Eve Muirhead).

At the 2017 World Cup , she played second under Anna Hasselborg. The team lost the semi-finals against Russia (Skip: Anna Sidorowa ) and the game for 3rd place against Scotland and Eve Muirhead and had to be content with fourth place.

With Anna Hasselborg, Sara McManus (third) and Sofia Mabergs (lead), Kniehauer took part in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games and won the gold medal in the final against South Korea . At the 2018 World Cup in North Bay, Canada, she lost to the Canadian team around Jennifer Jones in the final and won the silver medal. She won her third gold medal at the European Championships in 2018 with a final victory against the Swiss around Silvana Tirinzoni .

Kniehauer plays with the Hasselborg team on the World Curling Tour and has won several tournaments there. In September 2018, she won her first Grand Slam of Curling tournament with the Elite 10 in Chatham-Kent . It was the first victory in a Grand Slam tournament for the Hasselborg team, but also the first victory for a Swedish women's team. In October 2018, she won the second Grand Slam in a row at the Masters in Truro .
