Ahr red wine route

The Ahr-Rotweinstraße is an approximately 25 km long holiday route along the lower Ahr valley in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is used for the tourist development of the largest closed red wine growing area in Germany. This tourist route leads through the Ahrweiler district from Altenahr via Mayschoss , Dernau , Ahrweiler , Bad Neuenahr and Bad Bodendorf to Sinzig . The Ahr Red Wine Route was opened in April 1978.

The course of the route follows the federal highway 267 , and touches eleven municipalities, from which the red wine hiking trail leading through the vineyards can be reached.
