Aichryson porphyrogennetos is a species of the genus Aichryson in the thick-leaf family(Crassulaceae).

Vegetative characteristics
Aichryson parlatorei grows as a two or three year old, densely hairy, often purple colored, herbaceous plant and reaches heights of 15 to 45 centimeters. The shoots , mostly covered with hair in the lower part , have a diameter of 6 to 10 millimeters. The slightly woody lower branches spread widely and spread out. Their obscure trowel-shaped, pointed or rounded, densely hairy, purple-tinged leaves are 25 to 50 millimeters long and 15 to 35 millimeters wide. They narrow into a distinct, up to 20 millimeter long stem . The leaf blade is widest in the middle or above the middle .
Generative characteristics
The loose inflorescence is more or less multi-flowered. The seven to ten-fold flowers are on a 6 to 10 millimeter long peduncle and have a diameter of 10 to 13 millimeters. Their sepals are hairy. The golden yellow, broadly lanceolate, thorn-pointed petals are 5 to 7 millimeters long.
Systematics and distribution
Aichryson porphyrogennetos is common in Gran Canaria at altitudes of 600 to 1000 meters.
The first description by Carl August Bolle was published in 1859.
A nomenclature synonym is Sempervivum porphyrogennetos (Bolle) Christ (1888).
