Aimutin is a district in the west of the East Timorese capital Dili .

The São José de Aimutin church on the south side of Avenida Nicolau Lobato . In 2017 it was demolished for a new building.

Aimutin is located in the northwest of the Sucos Comoro ( administrative office Dom Aleixo , municipality of Dili ), south of the Avenida Nicolau Lobato , north of the Fomento district , west of the Sucos Bairro Pite and east of the Rio Comoro and the Delta district . Aimutin 1 (north), Aimutin 2 (southeast) and Aimutin Laran (southwest) together form the Aldeia Aimutin. The Aldeias São Miguel and São José can also be counted as part of the Aimutin district. In São Miguel, Emanuel Lelo Talok , pastor of the São José de Aimutin Church , donated a monument to the Archangel Michael on September 29, 2014 .

In the district there is a police station, the primary school Aimutin ( Escola Primaria Aimutin ), the Dili Institute of Technology (DIT) and another secondary school.

history

On October 23, 2006, during the unrest in East Timor, the hulls of two men from the east of the country were found in sacks in Dili . Their limbs and heads had been severed. Firaku gangs blamed Kaladi gangs who had set up roadblocks in Aimutin. A fight between the gangs at Comoro Market was ended by 100 international police officers and Australian soldiers.
