Air Bishkek was a Kyrgyz airline based in Bishkek and based at Manas Airport .
history
The company was founded in early 2006 as Eastok Avia and began flight operations shortly thereafter. In the beginning, however, only flights for other airlines were carried out. Kyrgyz Airways has operated its own flights since September 2009, when the company added the domestic flight connection Bishkek - Osh -Bischkek to its flight plan. In December of the same year, the Bishkek- Moscow- Bishkek route became the first international and, in total, second scheduled flight connection to the program.
In July 2007 the airline, like all other airlines in Kyrgyzstan, was put on the list of operating bans for the airspace of the European Union and is therefore not allowed to operate its own flights into the European Union .
In January 2010, the opening of a few more routes from Osh to Moscow, Novosibirsk , Krasnoyarsk and Irkutsk followed . In the summer of the same year, an Airbus A320 was integrated into the fleet. The offer was then slowly increased. In March of the same year the company was renamed Kyrgyz Airways . On July 29, 2011, the company finally renamed Air Bishkek .
Air Bishkek ceased operations in February 2016 after financial difficulties.
Destinations
In addition to some domestic routes, Air Bishkek also flew international routes to various Russian destinations as well as to Istanbul and Urumqi .
