biography

Camastral from Pontresina first took part in an FIS race in December 1998 . In the following years she was not very successful and won only a few important races. For example, she was first at the Belgian Slalom Championships in 2003. In January 2004, the first use in the European Cup followed . In 2005, the then psychology student won the gold medal at the Winter Universiade in Innsbruck . At the end of March 2006, Camastral surprisingly became the Swiss slalom champion . A few days later she was also the fastest at the German championships and was still ahead of the German champion Monika Bergmann .

On November 25, 2006, Camastral competed in their first World Cup race, the giant slalom in Aspen . On November 10th, 2007 she got her first World Cup points as 19th of the slalom on the Reiteralm . Two weeks later she drove in Panorama with the best time in the second run of the slalom in 11th place and established herself in the extended world elite. She was also eleventh on January 13, 2008 at the slalom in Maribor . The second Swiss slalom championship followed in March 2008. Due to chronic back problems, she was only able to start the 2008/09 season two months late, but subsequently did not achieve her earlier results. As at the end of last winter, at the beginning of the 2009/10 season she mostly failed to qualify for the second run. Due to persistent back problems, Camastral ended the season in January 2010 and underwent disc surgery . After the winter she was released from the squad of the Swiss Ski Association Swiss-Ski . In December 2010, at the age of 27, Camastral announced her retirement from top-class sport.
