Seminars

The weekend seminars of the ASD are offered nationwide. The learning groups consist of a maximum of 16 participants and are open to anyone interested in politics. The course content is based on the theory of social democracy, which was shaped by the German constitutional lawyer Hermann Heller and further developed by the political scientist Thomas Meyer . It describes a community that embodies both a representative democracy and the social state postulate. The ASD offers eight thematic modules: Basics of Social Democracy , Economy , Globalization , Welfare State , Europe , Integration and Immigration, State and Civil Society, and Peace and Security.

Participation in the seminars is certified. Seminar participants can prepare and follow up the course content in the internal area of the academy's website and on the learning platform www.fes-campus.de. There seminar material as well as reading and audio books from the academy can be downloaded free of charge for registered users.

In addition to the exchange with scientists, the seminar participants have the opportunity to discuss with well-known politicians such as B. Hannelore Kraft , Erhard Eppler and Hubertus Heil .
