Academy for theater, radio, film and television
The Academy for Theater, Radio, Film and Television (Slovenian: Akademija za gledališče, radio, film in televizijo , AGRFT ) is a drama and film school in Ljubljana and the only one of its kind in Slovenia . The current dean of the academy is Miran Zupanič .
The Academy of Theater , Radio , Film and Television is now part of the University of Ljubljana , which means that it is linked to international university exchange programs such as the Socrates program and the Erasmus program .
history
Founded in the spring of 1945, immediately after the end of the Second World War, as an Academy of Dramatic Arts and for the training of actors , screenwriters and dramaturges , it essentially goes back to a training facility set up by partisans in 1943 in the free part of the then occupied Slovenia.
In the course of the arrival of television in Slovenia at the end of the 1950s, in 1963 film and radio were added to the curriculum in addition to the theater disciplines, and shortly afterwards television, which resulted in the renaming of the Academy for Theater, Radio, Film and Television . Since 1975 the Academy has been a faculty of the University of Ljubljana .
Departments
The AGRFT is divided into three departments as well as the affiliated center for theater and film studies (Slovenian: Center za teatrologijo in filmologijo ) with the library of the center for theater and film studies.

The AGRFT admits a maximum of 20 students for all departments each year. During the course, students regularly attend film festivals in part - for example on-annual Munich International Short Film Festival the International Film Festival Munich . Since 1963, around 400 students have completed their training with a diploma.
