The Aksai Jessaulowski ( Russian Акса́й Есау́ловский , also Гнило́й Акса́й ( Gniloi Aksai )) is a left tributary of the Don in the Russian Oblast Volgograd .
The Aksai Jessaulowski rises in the Jergeni Hills about 60 km south of Volgograd . From there it initially flows south, but later gradually turns west. It passes the Oktyabrsky district administrative center , as well as the towns of Salivsky and Pugachevskaya, before flowing into the eastern bank of the Zimlyansk reservoir .
The Aksai Jessaulowski has a length of 179 km. Its catchment area covers 2588 km². The course of the river is very winding. The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The mean discharge is 38 m³ / s. In the summer months the upper course falls dry. Aksai Jessaulowski is covered with ice between the beginning of December and mid-March. The river water is diverted for irrigation purposes .
