al-Mahra ( Arabic المهرة, DMG al-Mahra ) is one of the 21 governorates of Yemen . It is in the southeast of the country. The capital is al-Ghaida .
al-Mahra has an area of 82,405 km² and about 122,453 inhabitants. This results in a population density of 1.5 inhabitants per km².
