Al Munteanu

Alwin "Al" Munteanu (* approx. 1968 ) is a German film producer . In 2002 he founded the film distributor SquareOne Entertainment in Munich.

Life

Al Munteanu studied at the University of Maryland and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He initially worked as a presenter on radio and television and worked for broadcasters such as Music Box , MTV Europe , Tele 5 and RTL , among others . At the latter, he briefly moderated the game show Glück am Puscher in 1992 . In the same year he founded The Entertainment Council , with which he implemented radio and television productions.

From 1994 Munteanu began producing feature films, with the majority acting as executive producer . In 2000 he became a board member of New Legend Media AG, which developed, financed and produced various film projects. After the planned IPO of the company failed in 2002, the company was liquidated.

In 2002 Munteanu then founded the company SquareOne Entertainment, with which he initially wanted to concentrate on film license trading. However, the company soon acquired its first rights to distribute international productions. For the theatrical release, SquareOne cooperated on many projects with Universum Filmverleih .

Munteanu occasionally gives guest lectures at the Munich University of Television and Film and the British National Film and Television School . He is married and has three children.
