Alain Rohr
Alain Rohr (born December 25, 1971 in Bern ) is a former Swiss sprinter and hurdler . He holds the Swiss record over 400 meters indoors with 45.92 s, run on February 13, 2000 in Magglingen.
In the 4-by-400-meter relay he was eliminated from the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg and reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Atlanta .
At the European Championships in Budapest in 1998, he came fifth with the Swiss quartet. At the 1999 World Championships in Seville, the Swiss 4 x 400 meter relay with Laurent Clerc , Mathias Rusterholz , Rohr and Marcel Schelbert set the current Swiss record with 3: 02.46 minutes in advance, but still missed it Entry into the final.
In 2000, Rohr finished fifth over 400 meters at the European Indoor Championships in Ghent . At the Olympic Games in Sydney he did not get past the lead with the Swiss relay. In 2001 he retired at the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon over 400 meters and at the World Championships in Edmonton over 400 meters hurdles in the first round.
At the 2004 World Indoor Championships in Budapest, he was fourth in the Swiss 4 x 400 meter relay. In the run-up, the quartet with the line-up Rohr, Cédric El-Idrissi , Martin Leiser and Andreas Oggenfuss set the current Swiss indoor record with 3: 09.04 minutes.
In 1998 and 2002 he was Swiss champion over 400 meters, in 2001 over 400 meters hurdles.
