Albaranzeuli Nero

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Albaranzeuli Nero is a red wine variety that is cultivated in the Italian region of Sardinia . It is generally not made into a single variety, but used as a blending partner. Although their cultivation is recommended in the province of Nuoro , the area under vines in the 1990s was only 9 hectares .

Presumptions suggest that the grape variety was introduced from the Iberian Peninsula during the Catalan occupation from 1323 to 1713.

The white grape variety Albaranzeuli Bianco is also grown in Sardinia .

Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. She is only slightly hairy. The light green young leaves are almost hairless.
  • The large leaves are five-lobed and deeply indented (see also the article leaf shape ). The stem bay is lyren-shaped open. The blade is serrated.
  • The cylindrical grape is large and quite dense. The round berries are medium-sized and reddish-purple in color.

The grape variety ripens approx. 30 days after the Gutedel and belongs to the grape varieties of the middle third ripening period (see the chapter in the article grape variety). It is therefore considered to ripen late.

Albaranzeuli Nero is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ). It has hermaphrodite flowers and is therefore self-fertilizer. In viticulture , the economic disadvantage of not having to plant any male plants that produce yield is avoided.
