The Albatros de Brest (official name: Brest Albatros Hockey ) are a French ice hockey team from Brest , which was founded in 1991 and currently plays in Division 1 , the second highest French ice hockey league.

history

The association was founded in 1991. The Albatros de Brest took part in the 1993/94 season for the first time in the game of the highest French ice hockey league . The greatest success of the Albatros was winning the French championship title in the 1995/96 and 1996/97 seasons . After the championship in 1997, the club had to withdraw from the top French league for financial reasons and began a fresh start in the fourth division 3. In the following period, the team played again several times first class, but had to play again in 2000 and 2004 for financial reasons withdraw from the French elite league.

In the 2011/12 season, Brest played in the second French division, Division 1, and in 2013 made it to Ligue Magnus. After the club was relegated a few years later, he is currently playing again in Division 1, where he only missed promotion in 2018 through a defeat in the playoff final against Anglet Hormadi Élite .
