Fabrice Lhenry (born June 29, 1972 in Lyon ) is a French ice hockey goalkeeper who has been under contract with Rouen Hockey Elite 76 in the French Ligue Magnus since 2009 .
Career
Fabrice Lhenry began his career as an ice hockey player at SC Saint-Gervais , for which he was active from 1989 to 1991 in Division 1 , the second French division. The goalkeeper then played for one season for their league rivals Girondins de Bordeaux and four seasons for the record champions Chamonix Hockey Club in the Ligue Magnus . After becoming French champion for the first time in his career with Brest Albatros Hockey in the 1996/97 season , the Frenchman moved to other European countries for the first time, where he was on the ice for the Frankfurt Lions from the German Ice Hockey League for the next two seasons .
Following his engagement in Germany, Lhenry played for one year each for his ex-club Chamonix Hockey Club in his French homeland and for HC Milano Vipers in the Italian A1 series . After another four years in the HC Mulhouse , with whom he surprisingly champion in the 2004/05 season, the now 33-year-old national team was awarded a contract with EfB Ishockey for which he 2005-2009 in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen between Post stood. He then signed a contract with the French top club Rouen Hockey Elite 76 , with whom he was French champion again in the first year after his return. In the 2010/11 season he won the championship double and Coupe de France double with Rouen .
During his career, Lhenry was awarded the trophy Jean Ferrand as the best goalkeeper of the Ligue Magnus five times , making him, together with Petri Ylönen, the record winner of the trophy.
International
For France , Lhenry took part in the junior division at the U18 Junior B European Championships in 1990 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1991 and 1992 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the B World Championships in 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2005 , 2006 and 2007 and at the A World Championships in 1997 , 1998 , 1999 , 2000 , 2004 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 and 2011 . He also stood for France at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , 1994 in Lillehammer , 1998 in Nagano and 2002 in Salt Lake City between the posts. He received numerous individual awards at world championships.
