The Albert Berner Germany GmbH is the German distributor of Berner Group, a European-wide operating family business that acts and fastening and assembly technology for the construction and metal crafts as well as for the motor vehicle craft mainly sold in direct sales. history

The company was founded on April 1st, 1957 by Albert Berner in Künzelsau in Hohenlohe as a screw dealer. As early as 1959, 15 employees were working in the newly rented premises, and in 1961 they generated the first million in sales. In the years 1963 to 1972, the company headquarters in Künzelsau was built on a total built-up area of ​​5800 m². In 1966 the Bernese nylon dowel was developed. From 1969, Berner began to build up his European group of companies with the establishment of foreign companies in Austria , Belgium , France and Switzerland . By 1974 further companies were founded in Denmark , Italy and the Netherlands and the group's turnover quadrupled.

In 1972, Berner founded BTI Fixing Technology GmbH as a subsidiary. In 1976 the company took over a factory for screw and fastening technology in Taiwan with Hsin-Ho and, as a European company, generated sales of more than 100 million DM from 1978 onwards. After more than 1000 jobs had been created in the company in 1979, the In 1983 the Berner Holding was founded, which from 1984 had an annual turnover of more than 200 million DM.

In 1989 the company moved to its new and still existing headquarters in Künzelsau-Garnberg. From 1990 onwards, the other foreign companies were founded in Norway , Sweden , Great Britain , Hungary , the Czech Republic , Luxembourg , Portugal and Spain . In order to do justice to the economic development, production is also carried out at Beto Tornado in Dortmund and Plica in Switzerland.

In the 1998/99 financial year, the company exceeded sales of DM 1 billion for the first time and now has 17 foreign subsidiaries and more than 5000 employees. In 2001 Berner took over the company SPAFAX , a French specialist in direct sales of tools, and was thus able to continue and increase its market position in France.

Since 2002 the company has initially held a 50% stake in the chemical company WIGO-Caramba and has been the full owner since 2006, after the Bad Kreuznach entrepreneur Bernd Gozdowski ( Caramba Chemie ) sold his stake. This enabled it to significantly expand its chemistry product field.

Until 2006, the existing foreign companies were steadily expanded and locations of the subsidiary BTI were added in Austria, Spain and Greece . There were also the new companies in Finland , Latvia , Lithuania , Slovakia and Turkey .

In order to differentiate itself more strongly from the group headquarters, Berner GmbH, in April 2008, Albert Berner GmbH was renamed Albert Berner Deutschland GmbH.

Corporate structure

The Berner Holding consists of the German company and 21 subsidiaries abroad. As German subsidiaries, these include BTI Fixing Technology GmbH, CarambaChemie GmbH & Co. KG in Duisburg and Wigo-Werk Kreuznach Chemische Fabrik GmbH in Bad Kreuznach and Airtrans Flugzeugvermietungs-Gesellschaft mbH in Künzelsau.

Albert Berner GmbH is divided into the two main business areas Construction and Metal Crafts and the Automotive Crafts Division. 750 sales representatives work for the company in Germany and have around 2 million customer contacts per year.

The company has extensive logistics with a total storage area of ​​93,000 m² in Europe as well as several sales offices called Profi Points in Germany and Europe.

Products
