Albert Bohn

Albert Bohn (* 1955 in Arad , People's Republic of Romania ) is a Romanian-German writer and poet.

Life

Albert Bohn made his debut with prose in the Karpatenrundschau . This was followed by further publications in the school newspapers Wir über uns and Muguri , in the student supplement of the Neue Banater Zeitung Universitas ., In the new literature . and in the Klausenburger student magazine Echinox . Two of his poems were printed in the anthology “Interview Today”.

After his military service , Bohn began studying at the Philological Faculty of the University of Timișoara in 1974, later known as the West University .

Albert Bohn is one of the nine founding members of the literary group Action Group Banat , which existed from 1972 to 1975.

In 1975, Bohn and his family applied for permanent emigration to the Federal Republic of Germany . He was arrested by the Romanian secret service Securitate in October 1975 and had to undergo lengthy interrogations. Although he was released after a week, pressure continued to be exerted on him, including by eavesdropping on his phone calls.

In the same year Albert Bohn emigrated to Germany and withdrew from the literary scene.
