The half-year publication for Southeast European History, Literature and Politics (HJS) was a German publication that appeared between 1989 and 2016, first in Ippesheim , then in Dinklage .

The magazine was published by the “Working Group for History and Culture in East Central and Southeast Europe eV” in cooperation with the East Europe Center Berlin , headed by Detlef W. Stein, in the Normannenstrasse research and memorial site and was published by AGK-Verlag, Dinklage. The editor in charge of the magazine was the historian Johann Böhm , who was assisted by a small editorial team: Georg Herbstritt , William Totok , Rolf Marmont. Scientific advisory board: Björn Opfer-Klinger, Wolfgang Knopp and Karl-Heinz Gräfe. The staff of the magazine included numerous historians, writers , publicists and journalists and the like. a .: Boris Blahak (Bratislava), Hildrun Glass (Germering), Joachim Kuropka (Vechta), Wolfgang Schlott (Bremen), Klaus Popa (Meschede), Zdenĕk Jirásek (Opave); Nele Ossenbeck (Oldenburg), Gabriel Andreescu (Bucharest).
The aim of the half-year publication was to deal with the historical, economic, social, cultural and political developments in Central , Eastern and Southeastern Europe in an objective and authentic manner. The authors of the half-yearly publication rejected nationalism, revisionism and political extremism of any kind.
