Albert Eugen Meyer

Albert Eugene Meyer (* 4. December 1857 in Herisau ; † 20th March 1936 ibid ; heimatberechtigt ) was a Swiss mechanical engineer and professor of technical drawing and mechanical engineering from the canton of Appenzell Outer Rhodes .

Life

Albert Eugen Meyer was a son of Johann Martin Meyer . In 1886 he married Anna Schweizer, daughter of Johann Heinrich Schweizer, a teacher . He entered into a second marriage in 1930 with Maria Anna Rosasco, daughter of Angel Rosasco. From 1873 to 1878 he attended the mechanical and technical department of the St. Gallen Cantonal School . From 1878 to 1882 he studied at the Stuttgart Polytechnic and became a mechanical engineer. From 1883 to 1885 he worked as a designer in the Rieter machine factory in Töss and then in the electrical engineering factory in Cannstatt (now Stuttgart ). From 1886 to 1894 he was a teacher of mechanical engineering at the royal building trade school in Stuttgart. From 1894 to 1923 he held a professorship for machine drawing and mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic and from 1911 at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich .
