Albert Hemrom

Albert Hemrom (born February 27, 1970 in Konapathar , Assam ) is an Indian clergyman and Roman Catholic coadjutor bishop of Dibrugarh .

Life

Albert Hemrom studied philosophy at Christ King College and Catholic theology at Oriens Theological College in Shillong after attending the boys' seminar . On April 25, 1999, he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Dibrugarh .

In addition to activities in pastoral care in Rajabari, he was prefect of studies at the boys' college in Dibrugarh. After further studies, he obtained a licentiate in Canon Law from St. Peter's Pontifical Institute in Bangalore and later received his doctorate from the Pontifical Lateran University . From 2006 to 2011 he was visiting professor at Oriens Theological College . Since 2014 he has been the official of the Diocese of Dibrugarh and rector of the boys' college. He was also a member of the college of consultors and the council of priests and was secretary of the diocesan commission for lay people and families.

Pope Francis appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Dibrugarh on December 2, 2018. He was ordained bishop by the retired Archbishop of Guwahati , Thomas Menamparampil SDB , on February 24 of the following year. Co- consecrators were his successor in office John Moolachira and the Bishop of Dibrugarh, Joseph Aind SDB.
