Albert Heusch

Albert Heusch (full name: Maria Ferdinand August Albert Heusch ; born April 14, 1868 in Aachen ; † October 28, 1944 there ) was a German scratch manufacturer and a politician of the Center Party .

Live and act

The son of the scratch manufacturer Eduard Alexander Heusch (1833–1890) and Alide Coomans (1830–1915) studied at the universities of Leuven and Manchester after finishing school . After the death of his father, he took over the scratching factory " August Heusch & Sons ", which had already been founded by his grandfather August Heusch (1807–1875) . It was the oldest scratching factory in Aachen and had its headquarters in the back of the Wylre'schen house , which was also the residence of the Heusch family.

In addition to his entrepreneurial obligations, Albert Heusch was also active in a number of voluntary ways. From 1911 to 1924 he sat as parliamentary group leader for the Center Party in the Aachen city council and from 1915 to 1918 was a member of the provincial parliament of the Rhine Province and from 1921 a member of the Prussian provincial council . In the meantime, Heusch took over a position in the management of the “ Cooperative of the Rhenish-Westphalian Knights of Devotion ”, which had preceded the later Maltese service , during the First World War .

In addition, Heusch was a member of the supervisory board of the Aachen and Munich insurance groups and a member of the board of the Stadt Sparkasse Aachen as well as a member of the Aachen Commercial and Regional Court and co-founder of " Lousberg- Strassebau GmbH". He also took over the chairmanship of the Aachen branch of the German Caritas Association and the chairmanship of the Karlsverein Aachen. Heusch was also an honorary member of the Aachen History Association and a member of the Aachen Casino Club .

Albert Heusch was married to Bertha Maria Janssen (1872–1953), daughter of District Administrator Wilhelm Leopold Janssen , with whom he had a daughter and two sons. The sons were the entrepreneur and long-time president of Alemannia Aachen , Gerd Heusch (1903-1984) and the future mayor of Aachen Hermann Heusch (1906-1981).

In connection with the history of his long-established family, which had its roots in the Kettenis area as the Hoesch family , he published his publication “ The History of the Heusch Family ” in 1909 with the Joseph La Ruelle publishing house .

Albert Heusch found his final resting place in the family crypt in the Aachen East Cemetery .
