Albert I (* 973 and 981 attested; † shortly before 1011) was Count of Namur around 973 . He was the son of a Comes Robert († before 981) and the Ermengarde of Lorraine , a daughter of Count Otto von Verdun , Duke of Lorraine. Robert, in turn, was heir to the Lommegau through his mother (a granddaughter of Reginhar of Hainaut from the house of the Reginare ) .

In 990 he married the Carolingian Adelheid († after 1012), a daughter of Duke Charles of Lower Lorraine , who had been the French pretender to the throne since 987 and was imprisoned by Hugo Capet in 991 and imprisoned in Orléans until his death .

Albert and Adelheid had at least two children:

  • Robert II , attested 1013–1018, † before 1031, Count of Namur
  • Albert II , attested from 1031-1062, † 1063/64, Vogt of Andenne , 1047 founder of the monastery of Saint-Aubin in Namur ; ∞ Reginlindis of Lorraine, attested in 1067, daughter of Duke Gotzelo I.
