Albert Luisier

Albert Luisier (born May 28, 1893 in Saint-Maurice , † June 4, 1979 in Lausanne ) was a Swiss agronomist.

Live and act

Albert Luisier grew up as the son of Maurice-Joseph, a merchant, and his wife Eugénie in a Catholic family in Lausanne .

After the classical Matura at the colleges of Saint-Maurice and Altdorf , he studied agronomy at the ETH Zurich and graduated in 1919 with a diploma. From 1923 to 1959 he was director of the cantonal agricultural school in Châteauneuf . He then worked as a specialist teacher for livestock . From 1920 to 1969 he was managing director of the Swiss Eringer Breeding Association . At the same time he was a member of the administration of the Provins (Valais winegrowers' cooperative), the Valais milk association and the Valais fruit and vegetable producers association.

Luisier wrote several textbooks on agricultural science between 1919 and 1955 and was editor of the herdbook of the cattle breed "Eringer", published in 1937/47.

His first marriage was to Blanche Debonnaire and his second marriage to Marie-Eugénie Fontaine, with whom he had a son, André Luisier . Luisier was a citizen of Bagnes .
