Albert Sous (* 24. April 1935 in Stolberg (Rheinland) ) is a contemporary German goldsmith and metal - sculptor . He lives in Würselen .

education

Sous grew up as one of eight siblings in Stolberg and, after finishing school, trained as a silversmith and church goldsmith from 1953 to 1956. He then studied sculpture at the Werkkunstschule Aachen from 1956 to 1960 and passed his master's examination as a goldsmith and silversmith in 1961 .

Sous created numerous sculptures and monuments for public spaces, including for the cities of Esens , Aachen , Würselen, Mönchengladbach , Aurich and Mainz . For his achievements he was honored with the jewel of the year in 1962 and received the Bavarian State Prize for Jewelry in 1966 and the State Prize for Goldsmithing in North Rhine-Westphalia in 1983.

Albert Sous is married and has four children, all of whom are also artistically active.
