Albert von Nostitz-Rieneck

Albert Graf von Nostitz-Rieneck (born August 23, 1807 in Türmitz , Bohemia , † January 25, 1871 in Prague ) was a Bohemian-Austrian politician and several times Oberstlandmarschall of Bohemia.

Life

Albert, a member of the Nostitz family , studied philosophy and law at the University of Prague and entered the civil service in 1828. His goods, which he inherited after the death of his father Jan Nepomuk von Nostitz-Rieneck (1768–1840), were Průhonice Castle near Prague and were located in Türmitz and Prödlitz in Moravia , among other places . From 1850 he was president of the Prague Conservatory of Music, his illegitimate daughter, the pianist Rosa Kastner, was a piano student of Franz Liszt .

In 1860 he was briefly a member of the Vienna Imperial Council . In 1862 he married Adelheid von Puteani (1823–1904) in Prague, and the couple had their daughter Maria Antonia Gabriela (1863–1934).

Nostitz was President of the Central Association for the Beet Sugar Industry in Austria-Hungary (1851 to 1861) and member of the board of the Böhmische Hypothekenbank. He was elected to the reopened Bohemian Landtag in 1861. At the same time he was for the first time Oberstlandmarschall of the Kingdom of Bohemia and thus chairman of the Bohemian government, the state committee . He had three terms in office: March 31, 1861 to July 31, 1863, October 4, 1866 to February 27, 1867, and August 26, 1870 to December 23, 1870.
