Edmund Graf von Hartig (born November 2, 1812 in Vienna , † March 30, 1883 in San Remo , Italy ) was an Austrian statesman.

Life

Edmund von Hartig, son of the Austrian statesman and journalist Franz de Paula Graf von Hartig (1789–1865) and Juliana Countess von Grundemann-Falkenberg (1788–1866), entered the diplomatic service and was ambassador to Kassel from 1846 to 1859 , Copenhagen and Munich .

Elected in 1861 by the Bohemian landowners to the Bohemian Landtag and from there to the House of Representatives, he was one of the most ardent advocates of the policy of the German- liberal State Minister Anton von Schmerling (1805-1893) and placed under the conservative Prime Minister Richard Graf Belcredi (1823- 1902) resigned his mandate.
