Edmund von Hartig
Edmund Graf von Hartig (born November 2, 1812 in Vienna , † March 30, 1883 in San Remo , Italy ) was an Austrian statesman.
Life
Edmund von Hartig, son of the Austrian statesman and journalist Franz de Paula Graf von Hartig (1789–1865) and Juliana Countess von Grundemann-Falkenberg (1788–1866), entered the diplomatic service and was ambassador to Kassel from 1846 to 1859 , Copenhagen and Munich .
Elected in 1861 by the Bohemian landowners to the Bohemian Landtag and from there to the House of Representatives, he was one of the most ardent advocates of the policy of the German- liberal State Minister Anton von Schmerling (1805-1893) and placed under the conservative Prime Minister Richard Graf Belcredi (1823- 1902) resigned his mandate.
After Belcredi's overthrow, he rejoined the state parliament and was appointed by the emperor for the period from April 4, 1867 to August 3, 1867, Oberstlandmarschall von Bohemia and a lifelong member of the mansion of the new Austrian Imperial Council, in which he was a representative of free-thinking Principles was.
Hartig married Julie Countess von Bellegarde in Vienna on April 15, 1846 (born September 23, 1822 in Milan , † December 9, 1884 in Burgstein ).
