Alberto Zapater Arjol (born June 13, 1985 in Saragossa ) is a Spanish football player who is currently under contract with Real Saragossa in the Spanish Segunda División .

Player career

Alberto Zapater is probably one of the few players who can still be described today as loyal to the club and with a sense of home. In Zaragoza -born midfielder Zapater comes from the youth of his home club Real Zaragoza , where he first played 2000-2004 in the second team and was from 2004 regular force in the first team.

In the 2007/08 season Zapater rose with Saragossa in the Segunda División . In the summer of 2009 he signed with the Italian first division club CFC Genoa . In his first competitive game for the Genoese on August 23, 2009, he scored his first goal. The midfielder scored in the home game against AS Roma to equalize 2-2, the game ended with a 3-2 win for CFC Genoa.

On July 30th 2010 Alberto Zapater moved to Sporting Lisbon . He was signed in exchange for Miguel Veloso .

National team

A particular highlight in his young career was taking part in the U-20 World Cup for the Spanish team together with greats like Sergio Ramos and Cesc Fàbregas .
