Albin Nees

Albin Nees (born May 26, 1939 in Krombach ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and was State Secretary in the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs.

education and profession

After studying philosophy , theology and law in Würzburg and Bonn , Nees received his doctorate as Dr. jur. utr. in Würzburg. He then worked as a judge at the Munich Social Court .

From 1979 he worked as a civil servant in the Bavarian State Ministry for Labor, Family and Social Affairs (from 1980 as head of social welfare department).

He is co-author of a commentary and a textbook on welfare (see works). Nees is married and has 3 children.

politics

After reunification , he worked in the new federal state of Saxony . From November 1990 until his retirement at the end of 2001 he was State Secretary in the State Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Youth and Family. On July 1, 2002 he was again State Secretary in the State Ministry for Social Affairs and remained in this office until December 2004.

During this time he played a decisive role in the restructuring of the social structure of the GDR after the fall of the Wall and in the related involvement in the unification agreement and in the development of the Saxon social administration.

Church engagement

Nees was already active in the Catholic Church as a student. He was involved with the Catholic student community and the Marian Congregation , today's Community of Christian Life (GCL). He was a member of the parish council, chairman of the deanery council and, as an elected synodal, member of the joint synod of the dioceses in the Federal Republic of Germany . In his dissertation, Nees examines the legal basis of this synod.

In addition to many other tasks, the Nees couple are involved in promoting the monasteries in the Dresden-Meißen diocese.
