Albinia
Albinia is a district of Orbetello in the province of Grosseto , Tuscany , Italy .
geography
The place is about seven kilometers north of the main town Orbetello. The provincial capital Grosseto is about 30 kilometers north. The place is two meters above sea level and has about 2500 inhabitants. This makes it the largest district of Orbetello.
Albinia lies a little above the northern spit ( Tombolo ) Tombolo di Giannella , which connects Monte Argentario with the mainland. The Fortezza delle Saline, which has protected the place for centuries, lies between the Spit and Albinia. The place is located on the Albegna River , which flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea here .
Attractions
- Chiesa di Maria Santissima delle Grazie , built in 1957 in the town center, designed by the engineer Ernesto Ganelli.
- Fortezza delle Saline , also called Torre delle Saline or Forte delle Saline . Arose in the second half of the 15th century as a fortress and customs post. In modern times, the complex was used by the local Guardia di Finanza until 1962 ; today the building is privately owned.

- Albinia is located on the historic Via Aurelia and on today's Strada Statale 1 Via Aurelia , which is part of the A12 autostrada .
- The place has a stop on the Pisa – Rome railway line .
