The imperial counts of Alcaini were an old noble family originally from Veneto , later native to Austria.

A branch of the Italian noble family came to Austria in the 18th century and attained the status of imperial count.

Johann Baptist Reichsgraf von Alcaini (* August 18, 1748 - October 8, 1800) was a Lieutenant Field Marshal . He took part in the siege of Belgrade and Czettin in 1788, the campaign on the Rhine in 1792 and the capture of Tortona in 1799. On September 17, 1798 he was commissioned to Klagenfurt also Inkolat in Mr. Booth for the Duchy of Carinthia . He died of the long-term effects of the injuries sustained in the fighting in Milan . The officer had three sons, of whom the two younger ones died young: Cajetan, Sebastian (* July 5, 1793), kk captain of the artillery and Johann (* August 3, 1795). His only daughter Josephine (1794–1843) married the royal Hanover major generaland later adjutant general of the King of Hanover Ernst August I. Georg Anton Diedrich von Düring (1780–1872).

The Austrian count was named above Cajetan (* May 16, 1792; † August 19, 1854 in Vienna ), Imperial Colonel and author of the work "Biography of the Vizier Ali-Pascha von Janina" (304 p., 1823), in Baden near Vienna on June 30, 1829 as well as the diploma in Vienna on July 6 of that year. The (imperial) count family line died out with his death in 1854 and later that of his widow (married since February 3, 1831) Luise Isabella (born October 7, 1803), daughter of Leopold von Herz and Carolina von Arnstein.

  • Giorgio Giacomo Alcaini was a writer and editor working in Munich in the 17th century. He published there, among other things, “Il monte incantato” in 1656, his musical drama “L'Oronte” in 1657, which he dedicated to the Bavarian elector Ferdinand Maria , and in 1663 he also gave the book “Chronice di Vicenza fino al 1404” by Battista Pagliarino († after 1504).
